George Christilles Jr. and Mary Marty (Faustina's Paternal Grandparents)

George Christilles Jr. and Mary Marty (Faustina's Paternal Grandparents)

George III and Mary Marty Christilles lived on a ranch in La Coste. He was a surveyor for the railroad. He had mules and equipment that he rented out to the railroad where he acquired enough money to start a car dealership. He sold some of the first cars, like the Maxwell.
Mary and George Jr. helped raise several other children: Marie, Emil and Agnes Christilles; children of a deceased brother, Sebastian George and Mary Amanda Pease. Mary and Josephine Cooner also lived with the Christilles family, until Mary was adopted by the Marty family of San Antonio. They were daughters of Ottilia Christilles and William Cooner. (Source: Verbal Account dictated to Frances Sharp Bailey by Faustina Christilles Sharp. September 23, 2009 and Medina County History)
